30 cupcakes accompanied the 007 themed communion cake.  Vanilla cupcakes with a buttercream swirl and topped with a hand-made decoration.

Very different from the cakes I've previously made for the first communion of this customer's other 3 children...  this is a James Bond themed communion cake!!  9" chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream filling and covered with marzipan and sugarpaste.   Gun barrel, silhouete and 007 hand-cut.

Yesterday was spent in the huge marquee at Chigwell Hall (also known as Chigwell Police & Sports Club) displaying cakes and handing out Baileys sponge cake and chocolate & orange cake samples to brides & grooms (to be!)  I met lots of people and I'm currently working my way through all the further details enquiry forms.

Customer wanted a cake for her son's Bar Mitzvah, but didn't know what! There wasn't a theme as such for the party, but they just wanted something colourful, fun & funky... She and her husband looked through my website and they loved the marshmallow pops.

This is what we decided on... and I think we've fulfilled the brief!!

Congratulations to Noreen & Matthew who were married yesterday at the Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell.  Noreen chose this pretty white on white wedding cake, which has 4 tiers entirely covered with blossoms and the occasional silver dragee.  Vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream; chocolate orange sponge with orange curd and chocolate buttercream filling; lemon sponge with lemon curd buttercream.

Customer's son LOVES the film Back To The Future, so she ordered a cake with an edible image.  I did the inscription to try and mimic the film title and there are little flames all the way around the cake to represent the trail of flames left by the car when it time travels!  9" chocolate orange sponge cake with orange curd and chocolate buttercream filling.

2 tier cake  - 10" vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream + 6" chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream - both covered with marzipan and sugarpaste and all decorations hand-made from modellng paste.
(As the customer showed me the photo of the cake she wanted, I'm afraid I don't know who to credit with the original design of this cake. )

3 tiered wedding cake (chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream, next up is a rich fruit cake and on the top is a vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream) blocked with fresh irises.  They're such an unusual choice for a wedding flower, but it looked so very pretty and spring-like!!  And the room decoration was complemented by yellow tulips...  understated and just gorgeous!  Warmest congratulations to Alison & Alex!

I'm afraid this character has passed me by, but I love the feminine touches of a bow and eye-lashes to a skull!  6" and 9" vanilla sponge cakes with jam and buttercream and covered with marzipan and sugarpaste.  Gum paste skull and bow.
