16th Birthday Drip Cake

They're growing up too quickly!! I've know Taylor since she was at nursery school with my younger son... so 13 years! I can't believe she's 16 now (well, I can... my son is also 16... but, you know...!) Her mum asked for a 'drip cake' in pink with dark chocolate drips. I topped with with a 16 made from cookies, covered in 100s & 1000s, and lots of other goodies, including gold Maltesers, mini Party Rings, dolly mixtures, sugar roses, jelly beans, home made 'jazzies' - and there was a royal iced cookie on the front! The cake itself was chocolte sponge with raspberry buttercream!  Happy birthday, lovely Taylor!

Weding Cake Jas

It was a glorious summer day for Jas & Kam's marquee wedding at the beautiful Creslow Manor.  Their wedding cake was tiers of champagne & strawberry and chocolate-orange cakes and was decorated in pale dusky pink, lustered grey and white, with ruffles, edible lace and topped with a hand-made sugar peony.  Marquee decor - by Floco - was the epitome of a summer wedding.

Silhouette Wedding Cake

Congratulations to Samantha & David who were married at Gayes Park back in April.

Samantha chose this pretty hand-painted silhouette wedding cake with yellow blossoms in shades of yellow and gold.

Many thanks to Abbey Weddings for the photographs.

18th Birthday Cake

Pretty, pink, girly, lilac, purple...  all words that the customer used to describe the cake she wanted for her daughter's 18th birthday.  Unfortunately, due to my (lack of) photography skills, you can't see the hand-piped inscription. I hope Francesca had a wonderful birthday - I know they enjoyed the cake as I got this lovely message

"It was just what I asked for and tasted delicious. Thank you so much again for a brilliant masterpiece xxx"

Christening Cake

I've made this cake a few times now - it's traditional yet modern and suitable for christenings or communions.  However, this is the first time I've made this design of cupcake and it's such a pretty addition to the main cake.

Loop Bow Cake

Loop Bow Cake

I'm not sure which of these pics I prefer, so I thought I'd upload both!!

10" vanilla sponge filled with vanilla buttercream, covered with marzipan and sugarpaste and finished with an edible loop bow and multi-coloured hearts.  The loop bow takes time to make, but the overall look of this cake is simple, but so pretty!

Barbie Cake

Barbie Cake & Cupcakes

It's been a while since I've done one of these cakes!  But I can't see them ever going out of favour with little girls...  I mean, most little girls love Barbie and princesses and pink...  and this combines all of them!  Lovely Barbie princess cake with pretty co-ordinating cupcakes.
