Wedding Cake 'Maria'

 

My very warmest congratulations to Maria and Hayden who were married today at Orsett Hall Hotel. Maria chose a pearl/champagne highly lustred cake with white royal icing damask stencil decoration finished with edible pearls, which complemented the gold accents of her decoration perfectly. With the bottom tier a light vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream; the 2nd tier zesty lemon sponge with lemon curd buttercream; and the top two tiers chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream, there is something for everyone!

    

 

 The bride hired a lovely set up for the table... I haven't seen this before, but it was really effective! On the actual table, was a 'separator' - and on top of that was glass or acrylic top the same size as the table, that the cake stand/cake sat upon. Between the table and the topper were silk flowers, pearls, etc.  I'm not sure my photographs do it justice, but it was really pretty and very unusual indeed!

 

As well as the wedding cake, I also made personalised cookie favours - a lovely way to combine table gifts and name place cards!

Barbie Cake

Thursday was my niece's 3rd birthday.  This was something of a last minute cake for her and so unfortunately I didn't get around to taking a photo...  but I think you can see by the look on her face that she loved it!  According to my brother, all she'd been talking about was a pink Barbie cake!

Birthday Cake

The brief for this cake was "a photo, a white cake with brown and black markings, cupcakes and QPR".  The photo is the birthday girl (the cake was ordered by her son!) and the cat represents a muc-loved family pet.  The whole family are ardent QPR supporters and I'm guessing she loves cupcakes!!  The photo is an edible image and the frame is also completely edible.

Wedding Cake 'Sharon' - for Aimee-Louise

Warmest congratulations to Aimee-Louise and Ben, who were married yesterday at the lovely Gaynes Park in Coopersale, Epping.  Aimee's colour theme of red and white was not only in the decoration of the cake - with piped royal icing pearls and hand-made sugar roses - but the inside of the cake, too!  4 tiers of red velvet sponge with cream cheese frosting.  The cake topper was provided by the bride.
