One of the rare occasions when decorating the cake board takes a lot, lot longer than the cake that's going on it!  But I had to ensure there were 13 stripes - 7 red and 6 white.  And there are 50 stars in the blue square.  Apparently, the birthday boy hasn't been the USA and so his present from his wife was this cake, two tickets and some US$ spending money!  What a wonderful way to celebrate a milestone birthday.

Birthday Cake

The brief for this cake was "a photo, a white cake with brown and black markings, cupcakes and QPR".  The photo is the birthday girl (the cake was ordered by her son!) and the cat represents a muc-loved family pet.  The whole family are ardent QPR supporters and I'm guessing she loves cupcakes!!  The photo is an edible image and the frame is also completely edible.
