Wedding Cake 'Abigail'

 

My very warmest congratulations to Abigail & Sahil. Abi chose this beautiful gold sequin cake. The original design by Zoe Clark uses gelatine sequins, but she Zoe told me that they aren't particularly palatable... so I decided to put my thinking cap on and came up with an alternative edible medium.  Abi also asked me to incorporate the Superman logo, as her fiancé (now husband!!) has a Superman tattoo, and I think it's kind of their 'thing', so there's a little surprise at the back of the cake.

Wedding Cake 'Sharon' - for Aimee-Louise

Warmest congratulations to Aimee-Louise and Ben, who were married yesterday at the lovely Gaynes Park in Coopersale, Epping.  Aimee's colour theme of red and white was not only in the decoration of the cake - with piped royal icing pearls and hand-made sugar roses - but the inside of the cake, too!  4 tiers of red velvet sponge with cream cheese frosting.  The cake topper was provided by the bride.

Wedding Cake 'Vicky'

 

 

 

Warmest congratulations to Vicky & John who were married today.

Their wedding cake was 4 tiers that included vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream; chocolate orange sponge with chocolate buttercream and orange curd filling; and rich fruit cake.  The cake was decorated with delicate lace and satin ribbon and bows, and topped with a hand-made sugar bride and groom topper.  John is in the Royal Navy, hence the topper was also in uniform! Vicky's stunning dress was recreated in sugar, as well as her bouquet of red roses.

Wedding Cake 'Kathryn'

  

 What a difference a photo makes!!!!  The top photo was taken at home, against a black backdrop, in the same way I always take my photos.  However, the detail of the sparkle on the 2nd and 4th tiers just wasn't there at all.  I tried everything I could think of (albeit, my knowledge of photography is virtually non-existant!)  The middle photo is at the venue - it was actually rather dark in there and so I asked the manager if it was possible to turn on a light?  He switched on a spot light which highlighted the sparkle - just what I needed!  However, this photo isn't really in keeping with the others on my website.  And so, the final photo is the same shot, but with the background blacked out.  

Congratulations to Kathryn & Gavin!  I hope you had a wonderful wedding day and I wish you every happiness for the future.
