Wedding Cake 'Avni'

I know there are a lot of photos, but how could I choose between them?  I love them all!  So, before I tell you about the cake, let me thank Apresh Chavda of www.apreshchavda.com for kindly sending me the photos and allowing me to use them.
My very warmest congratulations to Avni & Rishi who were married this weekend at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.  They chose a 4 tier cake topped with a hand-made sugar peacock, and the talented Becki from Floco dressed the cake with flowers to form the peacock's tail.

Natural History Museum Wedding

Very warmest congratulations to Karolina & Amit who celebrated their wedding on Saturday at The Natural History Museum.  They chose an impressive cupcake tower and with 5 flavours to choose from - vanilla; chocolate-orange; lemon; red velvet; and gingerbread - there was something for everyone.

Pink Marble Ombré Wedding Cake

Warmest congratulations to Sharmini & Gajan who celebrated their wedding at the InterContinental London Park Lane.  Taking inspiration of design features from lots of different cakes that Sharmini liked, we designed this 4 tier cake with ombré pink marble effect (ie starts off light at the top and gradually gets darker on each tier). It was finished with a feature fantasy peony with gold leaves.

Wedding Cake 'Sima'

At the beinning of December, it started like this:
Customer: Hi.  I know it's a bit short notice, but I need a wedding cake.
Me: OK...  how short? When's your wedding?
Customer: Sunday next week [that was 8 days away...!]
Me: gulp!

So Sima sent me through some cake photos that she wanted to use as inspiration and we created her own bespoke cake design.  If I say so myself, I think her cake was gorgeous and even if we'd had 8 months, this couldn't have looked any better!  It fitted the venue - The Great Room at The Grosvenor House on London's Park Lane - and the room decoration perfectly.

As you can see from the first photo, I didn't get a great photo, but I had the photo edited to enhance the colour and lighting and the second photo is much better.  But the last picture is a close-up I took at home which shows the true colour and closer detail.

My warmest congratulations to Sima and Rajan

Wedding Cake 'Esha'

My warmest congratulations to Esha & Matesh who celebrated their wedding this weekend. This is my largest wedding cake. 7 tiers - a mix of real cake and dummy tiers. The colour scheme for the reception was metalics - rose gold, gold, silver... and so Esha's cake reflected.  The huge bottom tier was covered in ruffles - and then each one had its edge painstakingl hand-painted painted in gold and rose gold! The rest of the cake was decorated using a mix of edible cake lace and hand-piped royal icing. The top two tiers were covered in edible rose-gold sequins.  I don't really like having my photo taken, but my husband wanted me in a shot to give an idea of the size... I'm 5'4" tall, so not exactly small!

White Chocolate Wedding Cake

Congratulations to Navdeep & Daryl who were married today at Langton House.
I made the wedding cake for Navdeep's sister, Anita,  5 years ago (Crikey!  That's frightening how quickly the time's gone!) and so I was honoured that they came back to me when it was Navdeep's wedding.  3 tiers of light vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream, covered with white chocolate ganache and finished with white chocolate cigarellos and fresh flowers to match the bride's bouquet.

Photo Shoot

Last month, I created two completely different wedding cakes for a photo shoot at the majestic Moor Park Golf Club.  I am beyond thrilled with the gorgeous photos.

This first cake is a 5 tier white-on-white cake that was created to echo the exquisite detail on an Ersa Atelier wedding dress called 'Truth', by using edible Cake Lace and hand-piped royal icing.

The second cake, in traditional Asian wedding colours of red and gold, took elements of the exquisite Asian wedding dress, worn by Sabeehah.

Venue:  Moor Park Golf Club, Rickmansworth
Photography: Sophie Anwar Photography
Flowers & Styling: Floco Flower Company
Chairs and styling: Designer Chair Covers To Go
Make-up: Make up by Humera
Stationery: Papeterie Eugenie
Wedding dress: Seemas Sarees

6 tier - Wedding Cake 'Amrit'

On 28th June I delivered the largest wedding cake I've ever made to the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.  It was a 6 tier cake (although the bottom tier was a dummy tier - I simply don't have facilities to bake a 16" cake!)
The cakes were lemon sponge with lemon curd buttercream and coconut & lime with lime curd buttercream.  Once covered with sugarpaste, they were then highly pearlised before being decorated with royal icing stencil work.  The cake almost appeared to be floating, as it was displayed on a clear acrylic table and finally it finished with flowers - both from the very talented Floco Flower Co.
I don't usually post photos of myself, but I thought it would give some scale to the picture; I'm 5'4 tall, so not exactly a shortie!!

Wedding Cake 'Jasmin'

Huuuuge 6 tier wedding cake.  The white ruffled tiers were 6" tall and by contrast, the gold tiers were only 3" tall.   I can't take credit for the design, as the customer brought me a photo of a cake that she'd fallen in love with, but I don't know the original designer.
