Wedding Cake 'Noreen'

Congratulations to Noreen & Matthew who were married yesterday at the Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell.  Noreen chose this pretty white on white wedding cake, which has 4 tiers entirely covered with blossoms and the occasional silver dragee.  Vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream; chocolate orange sponge with orange curd and chocolate buttercream filling; lemon sponge with lemon curd buttercream.

Wedding Cake 'Sandra'

Extended height (5") tiers of vanilla sponge cake with jam and buttercream, covered with marzipan and sugarpaste.  The bottom and third tiers were embossed with a diamond pattern, with a silver dragee applied to each intersection.  Hand-cut monograms to exactly match the couple's wedding invitation decorate the 2nd tier and the top tier is topped with sugar roses and hand-made beaded wire.  A delicate, lacy sugar butterfly was added to the top tier once at the reception venue.  The bottom tier alone weighed over 8gk!!  The wedding cake had to be assembled at the venue as there was no way we were able to lift it!
