Bar Mitzvah Cake

Bar Mitzvah Cake
Not the flashiest cake. Not the most technically challenging cake. But the most special cake I've ever made!
Huge thanks to cakesbytatiana.blogspot.com for allowing me to use her original design as the basis for my son's Bar Mitzvah cake. Very 'old school' with a traditional feel to it, with a tallit (prayer shawl) made for sugar around the bottom tier and the skullcap decorated to look exactly like the Bar Mitzvah boy's.

Bar Mitzvah Cake

Half-Ball Bar Mitzvah Cake
11" round chocolate sponge filled with chocolate buttercream with a half-ball on top, finished with an edible scarf.
Congratulations my dear friend Jackie on her son's Bar Mitzvah. And to Nathan, of course!
