8" zesty lemon sponge, filled with lemon curd buttercream.

This cake was ordered by the girlfriend of the birthday girl's son and she was telling me how the birthday girl had never, ever had a birthday cake made for her before!

Perfect Present!

Has there ever been a more perfect present for me?  

A truly thoughtful 'thank you' gift from a friend (and whilst I totally adore this gift, it really wasn't unnecessary!)  There's a perfect spot for it in my kitchen, so I shall ask Mr Pat-a-Cake to put it on the wall when he has a day off work!

Someone I know paid for a brownie when they were in McDonalds and asked the person at the til to put it with the order of the person behind them...  no reason - just 'because'.  A random act of kindness.  Just little things to bring a smile to someone's face.
