80th Birthday Cake

I'm lucky. I have the best mother-in-law in the world.  I really do love her and I know she loves me as if I was her own daughter.  It's her 80th birthday today and yesterday we celebrated at a lovely hotel with family and friends.  I made her this two tier cake - the bottom tier is lemon sponge and the tea pot is a rich fruit cake (her favourite!).  My first attempt at a sugar cup and sauce - which MIL has kept, along with the roses.
