Wedding Cake 'Vicky'

 

 

 

Warmest congratulations to Vicky & John who were married today.

Their wedding cake was 4 tiers that included vanilla sponge with jam & buttercream; chocolate orange sponge with chocolate buttercream and orange curd filling; and rich fruit cake.  The cake was decorated with delicate lace and satin ribbon and bows, and topped with a hand-made sugar bride and groom topper.  John is in the Royal Navy, hence the topper was also in uniform! Vicky's stunning dress was recreated in sugar, as well as her bouquet of red roses.

Celia came to me with a few cake designs that she liked and between us, we designed this elegant 5 tier cake with beautiful edible Cake Lace, midnight blue ribbon, pearls, surname initial monogram and topped with a hand-made sugar peony. Many thanks to Claire Bowman at Cake Lace for allowing me me to incorporate her idea on the use of the Cake Lace into this design.
