Happy birthday to my lovely mummy!! Small zesty lemon sponge filled with lemon curd buttercream and covered with a jewel-toned sugarpaste and decorated with *completely edible* Cake Lace. Although you can buy Cake Lace in gold, this is white which I dusted myself with edible gold lustre.

BMX Bike Half-Pipe Cake

 BMX Half-Pipe/Ramp Cake

This cake was on a huge 20"x14" cake board!!  It took 3 separate cakes to create this, with minimal carving (I hate waste!!)  I must confess that the bike is actually a mini toy that the customer provided.  The colourful graffiti inscription is all hand-cut and coloured and then added to the cake.  The other graffiti is written with an edible food marker.  Billy is the birthday boy and Josh is his twin brother (I'm about to upload a post of Joshua's birthday cake!!)

I just love how this one turned out!! Teapot with yellow roses... the customer cried when she saw it! She told me it was for her nan... and that her granddad (who tragically died in his 30s) used to buy her nan yellow roses every week. So this was a way to remember him on her nan's special birthday.
