The bride brought me a small sample of ribbon, to show me her colour scheme.  I must thank the  www.theribbonshop.co.uk from whom I received the most wonderful service.  Clara kindly sent me several samples so I could find the right colour match.  And this US single faced satin ribbon in azalea was just thing!!  I must also thank www.sunflower-sugarart.co.uk for sending me out the magenta petal dust so very quickly! 

 So, whether you call this colour azalea, magenta, fuschia or cerise, it's certainly striking!

I've actually made an almost identical cake to this in the past, but by having a much darker pink ribbon/roses, it gives it a completely different feel!  They're so different! (see http://www.patacake-parties.com/Wedding/files/page3-1028-full.html )

Emerald (55 year) Wedding Anniversary Cake

Emerald Wedding Anniversary Cake

For a couple celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary.  They wanted a cake that represented their hobbies of playing bridge and golf.  But to avoid making it too 'novelty' I used an argyle type pattern around the side.  The life-sized edible cards are made from modelling paste and edible images.  12" rich fruit cake.

Bat Mitzvah Cake

The brief was a light purple cake with a model of the Bat Mitzvah girl sitting over the edge, holding a microphone. She sent me a pic of the dress her daughter will be wearing and asked if it's possible to copy it and have some sort of pink gem on the dress? So I coloured some piping gel pink and added glitter and piped tiny dots of it over the bodice and skirt. She also wanted glittery musical notes. The cake is a surprise for her daughter, who won't know anything about it until they bring it out at the party!!
