The customer asked for an edible image of a taxi with the number plate showing her dad's name and age. So it's not just cakes I can turn my hand to... it's photo editing, too. :o) So that the side of the cake wasn't bare, I added hand-cut taxi silhouettes.

The order for cupcake cookies came from the same customer who ordered the bed cake for her mother last week. Sounds like all the special treats that the birthday girl's daughter had arranged for her meant she was being thoroughly spoilt... and quite rightly, too! And to prove that you're never too old for party bags, these were given to friends and family in little bags with cupcake prints on them! How sweet! I was completely taken by surprise when Jan (for that is the birthday girl's name) phoned me to thank me for the lovely cake and cookies! It always touches me so much when someone takes the time to say 'thank you'.

Quilled Cross
I just love this cake - the quilled cross gives a very contemporary feel, but the pink blossom and the font used for the inscription still have a very traditional feel to it. A perfect way to marry the old with the new.

I was already committed to doing 3 cakes this weekend,when my brother reminded me that I'd promised a cake for my niece's birthday party. How could I refuse? Fortunately, they only wanted an edible image of her favourite character, so that was quickly arranged. A pink edible band around the bottom of the cake and some pink hearts completed the cake, along with a liberal dusting of edible shimmer!
